Operators price by unit size, per week or per month, per store. The number you are quoted is frequently an introductory rate, and it excludes several things you will pay for. Here is how to read a quote.
25 sq ft (a large wardrobe or a small room’s worth of boxes), 50 sq ft (a one-bed flat’s furniture) and 75–100 sq ft (a two-bed home) are the common steps. Stackt’s plans follow the same logic at 15, 24, 36, 48, 72 and 96 sq ft, and we adjust after collection so you pay for the space used.
Operators quote per week and bill monthly or 4-weekly; Stackt quotes per week too. Every monthly figure on this page, theirs and ours, is the weekly price × 4, so the columns compare like for like (a calendar-month bill is about 8% higher on both sides). On a 6+ month term the same Stackt plans are £86.16, £107.76 and £153.36/month.
VAT in some published averages, insurance or protection cover (usually compulsory), a padlock, a deposit or admin fee at some operators, and the cost and time of two van trips. The brand guides linked below list each operator’s own terms; Stackt includes basic cover and collection is quoted up front.
