How much storage space do I need?

As a guide: a wardrobe-sized 15 ft² plan takes the contents of a wardrobe or a student room in boxes; a 24 ft² small-room plan suits a bedroom's furniture and boxes; 36 ft² fits the contents of a studio flat; 48 ft² is about half a garage; 72 ft² a small office; 96 ft² a single-car garage, with custom sizes above that. If you are only storing a few things, store by the item instead. Our storage calculator estimates the space from a room-by-room item list.

Question 2

What is the difference between storing by the item and a plan?

Accepted Answer

By the item, each box, suitcase or bike has its own weekly price, which is the cheapest option for a handful of things. A plan is a fixed amount of space (15 ft² upwards) billed weekly regardless of how many items are in it, which works out cheaper once you are storing the contents of a room or more. Both include basic insurance and a photo inventory, and you can switch as your needs change. See the pricing page for both price lists.

What if I don't know how much I want to store?

No problem, don’t worry, just take your best guess when you book your storage collection. We will check and confirm once we’ve received your items in storage. If you end up storing more, we’ll simply update your tariff accordingly and let you know. Stackt also automatically adjusts your unit size after we collect your stuff to ensure the most cost-effective solution. You will only pay for the actual space used.

What if I picked the wrong size?

Nothing to worry about. Take your best guess when you book; after we collect, we measure the space your items actually use and move you to the most cost-effective plan, up or down, and let you know. The same happens after a partial return. You only pay for the space you occupy.

        Custom = £0.82/sqft per week

Will my plan automatically be switched to a smaller size if I remove items?

When booking our storage service, we will automatically adjust your unit size after you book a partial delivery of your stuff to ensure you receive the most cost-effective solution. If you end up storing considerably less, we will simply update your tariff accordingly and let you know. You only pay for what you use, not more!
